Meowdoku: A Cozy Logic Challenge

Meowdoku proves that you don't need explosions or fast reflexes to make a game addictive. Give players a grid, a few stubborn cats, and a handful of simple rules, and suddenly, twenty minutes disappear without anyone noticing. Every puzzle starts quietly, but before long you'll be staring at the board thinking, "There's got to be one square I'm missing."

The idea couldn't be easier to understand. Each row, each column, and every colored area must contain exactly one cat. The only thing these furry troublemakers refuse to do is sit diagonally next to another cat. That one simple rule makes every puzzle much more interesting.

How to Play

When a puzzle begins, you'll already see one or more cats on the board. Those aren't decorations - they're your first clues. Look at how those starting cats affect the nearby rows, columns, and colored regions. As impossible spaces become obvious, mark them with X symbols so you don't have to think about them again.

Work slowly instead of filling the board as fast as possible. Sometimes, placing a single cat opens several new clues across different parts of the grid. Other times, you'll need to scan the whole board before the next move becomes clear. That's part of the fun.

If you ever feel completely stuck, the hint button gives you a gentle push in the right direction. It won't finish the puzzle for you, so you'll still have the pleasure of solving the remaining steps yourself.

Controls

  • Left Click: Place a cat in the selected square.
  • Right Click: Add or remove an X to mark an impossible space.
  • Hint Button: Receive a clue for your next logical move.
  • Restart: Reset the current puzzle and begin again.

Tips

Don't underestimate the value of X marks. Players who use them regularly usually solve puzzles much faster because the board stays clean and easy to read.

Another helpful habit is to stop focusing on one corner of the grid. If nothing makes sense, move your eyes somewhere else. A row you ignored earlier might suddenly reveal the answer.

Most importantly, don't guess. Every puzzle is built so that careful observation leads to the solution. The clues are already there - you have to connect them.

Why You'll Like Meowdoku

Meowdoku is the kind of puzzle game that's easy to recommend because it never tries too hard. The rules are simple, the cat theme adds plenty of personality, and every finished board feels earned. Whether you have a few spare minutes during the day or you're settling in for a longer puzzle session, it's a relaxing way to keep your brain busy. And honestly, solving logic puzzles is a little more enjoyable when cats are involved.
